What types of sauna does HIDROSTYLE offer?
The Hidrostyle portfolio is very diverse when it comes to saunas. Over time we have developed strongly in this segment, so that today we can offer our clients both dry and wet saunas. Depending on their specific character, these can be: the traditional Finnish sauna, the bio sauna, salt rooms, the herbal sauna, the steam room/hammam or cryosaunas.
What is the ideal place in a house/flat for a sauna?
Saunas can be placed both indoors and outdoors, depending very much on preferences and on the space available. Some people prefer an indoor space, while others want to enjoy the natural landscape by dedicating a space outdoors.
If you want a sauna inside the house, it can be placed in various locations: in the bathroom, the attic, in place of a dressing room or a hallway, etc. In general, a dedicated space can help indoors, and in this respect it may be more suitable to build a sauna to the available dimensions (custom). In flats that do not have a sufficient electrical supply, infrared saunas can be a better solution. They are smaller, easy to assemble and install and, most importantly, they do not require such a high electrical supply. A wall socket able to handle a maximum consumption of approximately 3 kW is enough.
Do saunas need maintenance? If so, what does it involve?
Saunas need a minimum of maintenance in private use. In general, the sauna floor or the space under the floor duckboard, if there is one, needs to be sanitised. For the wood there are products that help remove dust, grease or stains caused by damp. In general it is enough to wipe the sauna furniture with a soft cloth and a little water. It is also recommended to check the condition and level of the rocks in the electric heater every few months. They degrade over time, so they need to be topped up until the heating elements are completely covered by rocks, and after a while even replaced. For this you can call either a specialist company or the technician who installed the sauna.
